What to Expect During Your First Visit
Your first visit at Brown Family Dentistry offers you a chance to get acquainted with Dr. Brown and the staff.
When you arrive you will greeted by our front desk staff and asked to fill out the new patient forms. You can also fill these out ahead of time by printing them at the top of this page. If you have dental insurance, please remember to bring your insurance card with you at this time and don't forget to include the insurance subscriber's social security number and birth date.
A full series of digital radiographs and photographs will be taken so Dr. Brown can evaluate all areas of your mouth to determine treatment options for you.
Dr. Brown will do a thorough examination, evaluating your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw. The type of cleaning you need will be determined at this visit. An oral cancer evaluation will also be performed.
Dr. Brown will outline multiple treatment options. These will be discussed with you during the initial visit, including fees and insurance estimates.
Follow-up appointments are then scheduled, including your cleaning.
Dental cleanings are usually not scheduled during this visit.
Not everyone requires the same type of cleaning, some are more extensive than others and require more time to complete. Part of this initial consultation is to determine the status of your gingival health to allow the proper amount of time to complete your cleaning.
